Built to help people come back together

We walk to celebrate the strength of individuals in recovery and to remind our community that healing is possible. Together, we stand for hope, support families affected by addiction, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use.

In 2025, Gaston County held its first community Recovery Walk, bringing together individuals in recovery, families, treatment providers, and community supporters to raise awareness about substance use and mental health recovery.

How to Participate in the Gaston County Recovery Walk

The Gaston County Recovery Walk is a community movement that brings people together to celebrate recovery, raise awareness about substance use and mental health, and support individuals and families on their journey to healing. There are many ways to participate and show your support.

WALK WITH US

🚶 Join as a Walker

6Everyone is welcome to walk with us — individuals, families, recovery groups, treatment programs, faith organizations, and community supporters.

How to Join:

  1. Register online as a participant.
  2. Invite friends, family, or coworkers to walk with you.
  3. Wear your organization’s shirt or recovery colors.
  4. Walk with us to show that recovery is real and possible.

Whether you are in recovery, supporting someone in recovery, or simply believe in hope and healing, your presence matters.

🛍 Become a Vendor

Local vendors are invited to be part of the Recovery Walk community event. Vendors help create a welcoming environment while connecting with community members.

Vendor opportunities include:

FOOD TRUCKS

🚚 Register as a Food Truck

Food trucks are an important part of the celebration after the walk. We invite food trucks that can serve a variety of meals, snacks, and beverages to participants and families.

Food Truck Requirements:

  • Must have required permits and insurance
  • Must be self-contained for power and service
  • Must arrive before the event start time for setup

Food trucks will be promoted as part of the event and will have access to a large crowd of community members.
